You can get a glimpse of some of the high and mighty peaks of Bandarpunch, Black peak and range of Gangotri. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear Dayara Bugyal is green meadows sprawling out for a long way. However, you can experience meadows in different shades around the year. Spring and summer brings out the best hues of green and you can see the white sheep grazing in this meadow. Autumn turns the meadows golden and you would be amazed by the contrasting colours of this season.

Himalayan Flora and Fauna

If you are trekking in the Himalayas, you involuntarily expect to have a peek in the wildlife of the Himalayas. Dayara Bugyal does not disappoint you with its several wildlife species and wildflowers lined on your trail. In fact, Dayara Bugyal is deemed to be one of the best places for the bird watchers and wildlife photographers in the Himalayas. There are said to be over 40 species of birds that can be found in the forests of Dayara Bugyal.

Dayara Bugyal is underrated when it comes to how stunning views of mountain peaks it offers. The ranges lining the trekking trail are not any dim when compared to the meadows flocking the hillocks. The Black Peak easily overshadows the entire area with its massive height of 21000 ft. and it’s not just a couple of mountains but an entire panorama of Mt. Jaunli, Draupadi ka Danda, Mt. Shrikanth. The Gangotri ranges will stun you just by sitting there amidst the snow.

What to Carry

  • Clothing: thermal wear, windproof jacket, gloves and muffler.
  • Trekking: Waterproof backpack, trekking gears, hiking shoes, gloves, sleeping bag, trekking pole, tent. 
  • Utilities: Sunglasses, scarf, cap, Sunscreen, lip balm and toiletries
  • Document: carry your passport size photos, Adhar card/Driver’s licence.
  • Electronics: Camera and extra batteries, torch and power bank
  • Medicines: your prescription if there is any, Diamox for AMS, Crocin, Paracetamol and first-aid.
