The Cloud and Shared Storage Platforms

Technology has allowed almost everything to be faster, cheaper, and better. Hundreds of years ago we couldn’t even fathom some of the technologies we find “common” today. If we were to go back in time and show our ancestors a cellphone or a helicopter, they would think that we were either aliens or from the future, and they would be right. Our technologies are alien in a sense, until they become common and accepted by the population. One of these technologies that has come to be accepted by most is the cloud and shared storage platforms which have paved the way for thefastest network card.

With the rise of technology and inventions has come a new definition of collaboration. In the past we used to have to meet in person in order to discuss a project or business plan. We also used to have to write it down on a notepad or journal to make it concrete and there was no way to collaborate unless the group saw each other in person. This meant traveling to the dedicated location. Now with the cloud and shared storage platforms we are able to upload, edit, and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more. These shared storage platforms also include free storage space up to a certain amount. If you go over the allocated free space, you can always upgrade to the paid service which will increase your space dramatically.

Though most of these platforms are limited to storage, you can have a combination of all of them to increase the space you get. The drawbacks to doing this, however, include having to switch back and forth between platforms and sometimes even having to change the file type from one platform to another. For example, some platforms may not accept or allow you to edit or transform PDFs into word documents. It may take a while for you to understand all of these platforms and how to upload or edit documents, but they all have a very similar user interface. No matter which platform you end up choosing there’s one thing sure to happen, you will feel a different kind of freedom. This freedom is being able to work from anywhere, with anyone you choose, and at any time you choose. Updates are also shown so you keep a track of everything that has happened in each shared storage platform.

In conclusion in this article we discussed the topic of the cloud and shared storage platforms, a revolution in the way we have improved team collaboration and document storage. There are hundreds of platforms you can use to keep your documents secure and backed up on the internet. Most of the platforms are free and provide you with a limited amount of storage but you can always upgrade to their paid versions or make separate accounts if you need more storage and are low on funds. A shared storage platform is the best option to collaborate, shared, and edit projects.
